Information
Navig8 Lake For Schools
Your presence and participation at this event is extremely important to our team, to our students (Your Incoming Workforce) and to our county!
Important considerations:
-
Our students have already identified general career paths and need to learn about the life of a professional in your field.
-
You are asked to provide HANDS-ON Learning. Our students remember learning while doing. Activities should be safe and aligned to your industry. Dream Big- we can help!
-
If you have not onboarded into SCHOOLINKS yet, please do so! This is the platform our students use to see career opportunities in our community. Use this platform how you would use LinkdIn or Indeed.
For Schools.
The purpose of students in grades 6 -12 to attend Navig8 is to connect them with the tactical realities of their chosen career pathway and to connect them to potential employers in our communities. It is also for the purpose of identifying courses that align with their pathway and select courses based on this lens. Please be sure students complete the pre and post work as well!
Pre Work!
Districts are greatly encouraged to leverage the Career Awareness, Exploration, and Skills/ Interests assessments SCHOOLINKS provides.

HOW TO EXPLORE CAREERS
For Counselors.
Counselors are an important component of Navig8 Lake. Their unique ability to connect students with the available courses in their district that support students' career goals is invaluable! We greatly encourage counselors attending to bring a copy of their district's course guide as well as knowledge of the increasing value of dual credit for high school students. These two points are also important components of the College and Career Pathway Endorsement, a priority for Lake County.
