The Regional Office of Education, Lake County IL. is here to help you with your licensure needs. In order to serve you, we have provided links below to help you get started with renewing or obtaining your licensure requirements. You can also book a time at our office so one of our professional can help you in person with your licensure needs. 

In addition, the Regional Office of Education offers fingerprinting and background checks for substitute teachers.
The fee for fingerprinting and background checks is $50 and are payable at time of appointment.

Substitute license must be issued and registered prior to fingerprinting.

Applying for A license

Applications for licenses, endorsements, and approvals must be completed online through ELIS (Educator Licensure Information System). Click HERE to sign up for an ELIS account or to log into your existing ELIS account.
 

Please Note: When a transcript is required, it must be an official transcript. To be considered official, a transcript must arrive at the Regional Office of Education in sealed envelope that you have not opened, just as you received it from your college of university. Universities can send transcripts directly to our office via mail or electronic transcript. For more information about transcripts please contact Licensure at
