MENTAL HEALTH CARE ACCESS FOR STUDENTS, STAFF AND THE FAMILIES OF LAKE COUNTY

Referralgps.png

ReferralGPS is a web-based service focused on assisting our students, staff, and community in finding local mental-health and substance use related treatment. The service compliments the districts existing systems of support as a tool for student service teams and families to connect with treatment. Along with a searchable database of treatment options, ReferralGPS provides Care Navigation to assist families in triage, appointment setting, and follow up care.

The Regional Office of Education, in partnership with ReferralGPS, is launching a free mental health service, linking families and employees to therapists and counselors in the community. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the holistic development of students and promoting a nurturing learning environment. This free mental health service is being provided through the Bureau of Justice Assistance Stop School Violence Grant awarded to the Lake County Regional Office of Education.

The partnership with ReferralGPS will expand access to mental health services and reinforce ROE’s commitment to the well-being of students, their families, and educators. Education is a community mission of the ROE and it is important that we support students, families, and staff so they have access to timely care. This partnership will help to assist students and provide wrap-around supports because what transpires outside of school impacts the school day. Collaborating with community partners helps to ensure that every student thrives and achieves their full potential.

As the Lake County ROE and ReferralGPS embark on this groundbreaking initiative, the community can expect to see positive outcomes that contribute to the overall health and success of students in Lake County and the broader educational landscape.
