DITCHED Con is the Lake County ROE's annual conference focused on providing instructional coaches, tech coaches, teacher leaders, and educators a platform to learn about the most innovative practices for impactful coaching. ​

This conference provides an opportunity to connect with other coaches, learn about new and engaging topics, and dive into creative ways to grow as a coach.  ​

​

This year, DITCHED Con will be entirely virtual for attendees.​

Heidy LaFleur

Trauma, Behavior and Social Emotional Learning Specialist

 

Heidy LaFleur is a vibrant, positive and common-sense leader with an explosive passion for helping people understand trauma & the critical importance of social emotional learning. She is a forever teacher, former school administrator and most importantly, a mother who lives the trauma and mental health cycle with her family. She wakes up every morning to spread the message that our job is to make EVERY day the BEST day for EVERY child.

Sandy Bartle Finocchi

Chief Mathematics Officer at Carnegie Learning 

 

Sandy Bartle Finocchi has spent more than 30 years devoted to student success in mathematics—as a teacher, department chair, and math coach, as a professional development leader and trainer, and as the head of the Carnegie Learning Instructional Design Team, developing math curriculum that combines cognitive and learning science with practical instruction to develop conceptual math understanding and deeper learning skills. 
She has worked with thousands of teachers from across the country to transform math learning for their students. Sandy believes that all students are capable of becoming strong, confident math learners.

Shawn McCusker

Author and Senior Director of Professional Learning at EdTechTeacher.  Shawn has 25 years of experience as a teacher and leader in public, private and alternative schools. 
Shawn is the author of Becoming Active Citizens, winner of the 2022 Foreword INDIES Gold Award for Education. His column “The Tech Savvy Classroom” appeared in Digital Learning magazine. As a teacher and expert in technology integration his lessons and student products have been featured in the Journal, Educational Leadership and the Huffington Post. In 2016 he was named a Top Trailblazing Educator on Twitter by eSchoolNews. 
He has been a keynote and featured speaker at conferences across the US. Shawn is currently working on a book to help teachers navigate the world of AI in practical ways. He currently teaches courses on AI prompt Generation, AI for Social Studies, and AI Ethics and Policies.
