About the event

Join us for a 2-day workshop exploring the fundamentals of instructional coaching.  We will work with coaches on the coaching basics that are the foundation of a successful program.  We will look at a variety of coaching methods and styles, and help participants find a mix that will support teaching and learning in their school.

We will address topics such as:

  • What coaching is and what it isn’t
  • Ethics in coaching
  • How to create a meaningful, measurable goal
  • What is a coaching cycle, and how to create one that is effective and impactful
  • How to break through barriers with reluctant teachers
  • How to have difficult conversations with teachers and administrators
  • Using data to support coaching
  • How to create and facilitate meaningful professional development

We will work through a variety of scenarios to help prepare coaches for a variety of situations and give time to network with other coaches for deeper learning and collaboration.  This workshop was developed by a committee of coaches from Lake County schools and will be facilitated by current instructional coaches who will share their experiences and expertise with others.

  • Note:  Breakfast will be provided from 8:00 - 8:30 am, with lunch on your own.
  • Participants will receive a discount code for the 2024-2025 Coaches Network
