About the Event

This more advanced course is meant to encourage creative robotic solutions in any classroom. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to check out robots from the Lake County ROE.

As educators we want to encourage skill sets that students will benefit from in their upcoming careers. Computational thinking, which includes decomposing problems, pattern recognition, making generalizations, and developing and recognizing algorithms come into play no matter the career. These skill sets are also key in understanding coding. This two session robotics course is meant for those who have some experience with Sphero and coding; however, no experience with Birdbrain is required.  In these sessions we will dive deeper into block coding, encouraging and planning for computational thinking.  We will explore, create, and problem solve bringing robotics into the math, science, social science, and ELA classroom and incorporate creative robotic projects.
