Meet The Team
Ms. Goedken, Principal
Ms. Goedken earned her Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education, with a middle school endorsement in Language Arts and Social Sciences, from Northeastern Illinois University. She completed her student teaching at Warren Township High School. Ms. Goedken spent the first few years of her career working in their English department, as well as spearheading their academic recovery program “Project Failsafe”. Ms. Goedken has worked in many capacities in the Regional Safe School Program. In 2008, she was hired as a Behavioral Interventionist and substitute teacher. Ms. Goedken also taught Electives and English courses in the Regional Safe School Program for 5 years. In 2018, Ms. Goedken was hired as the program’s Principal. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, reading, and spending time with her family.
Ms. Gamboa, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Gamboa has been an administrative assistant at the Regional Safe School since 2019. She serves as the primary contact for external offices and assists with daily school procedures. Prior to her position at the RSSP, Ms. Gamboa worked at Lakes Community High School as a security guard. Ms. Gamboa has over 8 years of experience working in customer service and is fluent in Spanish. Ms. Gamboa earned her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. She enjoys learning new recipes that can challenge her, as well as photography, and getting out in nature.
Ms. Sciacca, Electives
Ms. Sciacca has been teaching the electives courses at the Regional Safe School Program since 2017. Prior to teaching at the Regional Safe School Program, she taught science in both charter and public schools for students grades 6-12. Since 2011, Ms. Sciacca has worked with at-risk, special education, and gifted students. Ms. Sciacca has worked with students to develop core skills in the areas of math and reading, to provide content-specific tutoring, as well as, to provide individual standardized test prep for the ACT, SAT, and ASVAB exams. Ms. Sciacca has a Bachelor’s in Science-Biology from Lewis University and a Masters in Education from the University of St. Francis.
Ms. Villacis, Math
Ms. Villacis joined the Regional Safe School staff in 2018 as a Mathematics teacher. Previously she taught for 4 years at a high school in Hampton, Virginia and 2 years in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Villacis earned her Bachelor of Education in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2012 and her Master’s in Literacy Education from Northeastern Illinois University in 2014. Ms. Villacis is fluent in both English and Spanish. Her energy and humor are a joy to be around!
