Time & Location
About the Event
SESSION #1 - December 8, 2020
Are you looking to incorporate more differentiated instruction and small groups into your middle school math class? Worried how to manage middle school students while teaching in the small group setting? Join us for a dive into how to structure a Guided Math approach to instruction at the middle school level. We will explore the components of the framework and see specific examples of how to use assessment data when grouping students. Essential management routines and resources will be explored. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity to grow your math class!
Participants will have the option of borrowing materials provided by Hand2Mind & the Lake County ROE to implement Guided Math instruction after attending Session 1.
SESSION #2 - May 13, 2021
After implementing at least one Guided Math unit, let’s reflect & connect on what worked well for you and the students and what challenges you faced. We will problem-solve common hurdles when implementing the framework and dive deeper into valuable resources to support your work in the classroom.
This workshop is offered at a reduced price in partnership with Waukegan CUSD 60 and funding from the STEM CSED Program & Grant. If you have any questions about this course, please reach out to Lauren Lipsey (firstname.lastname@example.org)
