About the Event

Students today are immersed in digital media, making media literacy more critical than ever.  This workshop will explore media and digital literacy concepts. How can we as educators help our students be more media literate? How can we help them uncover their own biases, and those of media producers? How can we help students be excellent digital citizens? Are we doing all we can to teach them the skills they need to safely navigate, consume, and even produce media on the Internet?  Join this session to develop your own media literacy awareness, receive and share resources and lesson plans, and prepare to teach these concepts to your students.  While media literacy is important for all, this workshop is geared towards middle and high school educators. Please bring a laptop to this event.

This workshop is for Grade 6-12 Teachers and will cover the new Media Literacy Mandate.
