About the Event

This beginner course is designed to incorporate a variety of robots with any curriculum. Once you have completed this course, you will be able to check out robots from the Lake County ROE.

Robots and coding shouldn’t be seen as an additional “thing to do”. Students have been exploring robots in their coding courses or in the library and are developing essential skills that will propel them later in life. Now is the time to bring these skills into the classroom and bridge a connection for your students. In this two part course we will explore plugged and unplugged activities you can use with your students during, math, science, social science or ELA. We will also experience coding a variety of robots including, Beebots, Code and Go Mouse, and Botley learning how to provide simple opportunities to bring coding into your curriculum. In our second session we will dive into block coding using Sphero’s Bolt, and Dash.

This workshop is funded through the Education, Innovation and Research (EIR) Grant.
