Attendance & Truancy Division Staff

Monika Schwander-Lottermoser, Director

Monika has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work. In addition to working with students on their attendance, one of Monika's primary responsibilities is to represent the office in the event that a student is referred to court.

Cherrivon Lloyd, Outreach Specialist

A 2003 graduate of University of Illinois - Urbana-Champaign with a BS in Advertising. Cherri is also responsible for volunteer recruitment and resource development, in addition to working with students regarding their attendance. She joined the team in the fall of 2005.

Mey Spencer, Bilingual Outreach Specialist

Ms. Spencer has a BA from the Instituto Nacional in El Salvador and a certification from Evantson National College in Social Work. Mey is fluent in English and Spanish. Mey returned to the Attendance & Truancy Division in November, 2007 after a four year hiatus in Florida. Prior to that, she worked with the Attendance & Truancy Division for five years.

Michael Clarke , Outreach Specialist

A graduate of Northern Illinois University in 2008, with a major in History. Mike is a high school baseball coach in the spring and summer. He joined the office in September 2008.

Andrea Kowitz, Administrative Assistant

Andrea has been with the office since May 2000. In addition to creating and maintaining the student database, some responsibilities include: hosting the annual Attendance Week competition, assisting with the grant-writing process, Accounts Payable, and overseeing the Budget. She is a graduate from Ashford University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Education. Ms. Kowitz is also currently a graduate student of Concordia University for School Counseling.

Jeffrey Huhnstock, Intern

Jeff is a Senior at Northeastern Illinois University working on his Bachelor's degree in Social Work and will be completing his internship with the Attendance & Truancy Division during the 2012-2013 school year. A member of the first graduating class of Grayslake North High School, Jeffrey resides in central Lake County. He will be working with students in the Grayslake, Fox Lake and Antioch regions.
