Road Closure and Lane Closure Notification: Lake County Public Works to Repair Main
The Lake County Department of Public Works will be repairing a 30-inch diameter underground pipe in Ingleside that carries waste water from the East Main Pump Station, through a larger system of underground pipes, that eventually ends at the Fox Lake Treatment Plant. This concrete pipe was originally constructed in 1979 and needs repair due to deterioration in three locations. The repairs will ensure that no leaks or breaks will occur in the pipe that would allow waste water to leak out into the environment. This work will require a road closure at Larkin Lane between Wilson Road and Catherine Street for approximately one week. Following this temporary road closure, there will be a closure of the northbound lane only on Wilson Road north of Larkin for approximately four weeks. Northbound Wilson will be detoured at Route 134.
The nature of this work is extremely weather dependent and therefore the dates and times of the road closures may be delayed or rescheduled. Please use Lake County PASSAGE for local traffic information.
Larkin Lane Detour: Local traffic will take Catherine Street to Big Hollow Road, follow detour signs. Tentatively scheduled to begin April 24, 2017.
Northbound Wilson Road Detour Route: East on IL 134, north on Fairfield Road, and west on Rollins Road. Southbound traffic will remain open. (See map below) Tentatively scheduled to begin May 1, 2017.
