This program provides influenza immunizations to adults and children in the Lake County area.

Where to Get Your Flu Shot

The Health Department continues to provide flu vaccinations at its Immunization Program, 2303 Dodge Avenue in Waukegan. The Health Department accepts Medicare Part B, certain Medicaid plans, cash, checks, and credit cards. No private insurance is accepted. Flu vaccinations are given by appointment. For more information or to make an appointment, call 847-377-8470.
Adult Shot
In addition to the availability of vaccine at the Health Department's Immunization Program, the vaccine is available at sites throughout Lake County. Find a convenient location for yourself by using the Flu Vaccine Finder.

The standard injectable flu shots are $33 for adults who are 19 years old or older. A recombinant flu vaccine for egg-allergic persons and a High-Dose flu vaccine for persons 65 years old and older are available for $50.

Fees vary based on type of flu vaccine and whether the child is eligible for the Vaccine for Children Program (VFC). Fees range from $23.00 to $50.00 per dose. VFC children will not be refused vaccines even if they are unable to pay the administration fee. VFC eligibility guidelines may be found here.

Parents or guardians must bring immunization records of their children with them. If a child has an immunization letter from a school nurse, it should be brought to the clinic.
