The Planning, Building and Development Department is responsible for the enforcement of county building codes and zoning ordinances in unincorporated Lake County through plan review, permitting, and inspection of all construction activity.
Community Development is responsible for administering federal and county funds used to assist low- and moderate-income residents, preparing the consolidated plans, annual action plans and performance reports.
Engineering staff assist with site development permits, environmental concerns, flood prevention, and enforcement of the Unified Development Ordinance in unincorporated Lake County in relation to drainage, soil erosion, floodplain and wetland protection.
The Planning staff are responsible for long-range comprehensive planning and research on current and future concerns related to land use and development, transportation, and economic development within the county.
The zoning staff is responsible for implementing Chapter 151 of the Lake County Code as it relates to permit approval, applications for Conditional Use Permits and variations, subdivisions, and natural resource protection.
