SHARANYA PASTAPUR WINS SPELLING BEE

Roycealee J. Wood, Lake County Regional Superintendent of Schools, and the staff of the Lake County Regional Office of Education are pleased to announce that, SHARANYA PASTAPUR, a 7th grade student at Lake Zurich Middle School North, was the winner in the Lake County Final Spelling Bee Competition held at the College of Lake County on March 20, 2017.  Sharanya will travel to Washington D.C. to compete in the Annual Scripps National Spelling Bee.  The competition will be held May 28 through June 3, 2017.  All expenses for the 7-day trip will be paid cooperatively by the Lake County Regional Office of Education and the Jelly Belly Candy Company.  Special thanks to the Mundelein Vernon Hills Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Antioch for their support of the program.  Marlene Schaff from the Schaff Family Homeschool, was the runner-up.  Twelve students in grades 4-8 from the following schools participated in this competition:
