The Job Center serves all members of the public. We have resources for job seekers who may have a barrier to employment or a specialized situation including: veterans, youth, seniors, ex-offenders and individuals with disabilities.
Military veterans receive priority of service. Please let us know that you are a military veteran when you arrive.
Youth career services are made available by partnering with local schools, libraries, and community based organizations. Applications for the Lake County Summer Youth Employment Program are available on the Job Center website during the month of February each year.
Ex-offenders The Repatriation Program is available at the Job Center through the College of Lake County. See our calendar for an 'Overcoming Barriers' workshop or call 847.543.2865 for further details. Prairie State Legal Services offers free legal services for qualifying civil cases for low-income individuals.
Individuals with disabilities
The Job Center supports individuals with disabilities.Adaptive equipment available at the Job Center includes: adjustable height computer station, large screen monitor, JAWS software that acts as an audible screen reader, ZoomText software that enlarges items on computer monitor, and a closed circuit TV to magnify documents.
